Through this message, I would like to send all my wishes of success to Aya Kamikawa for her present campaign.
Indeed, not only instrumental to achieve equal rights for transgender people in Japan, she also fights for the rights of women, children, the elderly and disabled people.
I admire her as a true fighter for human rights, and hope that she will succeed in the way to the municipal Council.
In Geneva, we have had the chance to hear Aya Kamikawa in the frame of the 23rd ILGA World Conference, and have therefore had the possibility to acknowledge the crucial role she has to play in making trans people more visible not only in Japan, but at the international level. Again, all my wishes of success for her!

でもそれだけではありません。女性や子供、あるいは高齢者や障害を持つ人々の権利を守るためにも彼女は戦っています。
彼女は本物です。人権のために戦うファイター・上川あやを私は尊敬します。
そして、彼女が区政への道のりで成功することを期待しています。
